Bengal BJP chief Rakesh Singh, whom the social gathering’s youth-wing employee Pamela Goswami has named in a medicine case, has been arrested on the state’s Burdwan district. He was allegedly fleeing the state by highway. Ms Goswami, who was arrested final week over allegations of possessing round 100 grams cocaine, has accused Mr Singh – an in depth aide of senior BJP chief Kailash Vijayvargiya – of implicating her within the medicine case. “They have been trying to frame me for a long time.

Mr Singh was asked to appear today at the Kolkata Police headquarters for questioning in connection with the case. He, however, refused, saying he was travelling to Delhi and will appear before the police on February 26, when he returns to the city.
Earlier today, a huge police force reached outside Mr Singh’s house. His children, however, refused to let the police in.
The high-intensity drama played out on a day when a CBI team visited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee’s house to question his wife Rujira over some bank transactions allegedly linked to a scam.
Mr Singh’s family insisted that the police action was to avenge action against the Diamond Harbour MP’s wife.
“My father is being victimised. I do not know something about Pamela Goswami and the medicine case. My father just isn’t concerned. He’s being victimised I do not know why,” his son, Saheb Singh, had instructed NDTV at present.
