D-backs lefty Bumgarner (shoulder) placed on IL
Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Madison Bumgarner was positioned on the 10-day injured checklist Thursday with irritation in his throwing shoulder.
Bumgarner underwent an MRI on Thursday after leaving Wednesday’s 7-6 loss to the New York Mets early. Bumgarner pitched simply two innings within the sport — his shortest outing since Aug. 9, 2020 — whereas permitting 5 earned runs on eight hits.
