Panasonic Proclaims Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro O.I.S. Lens

As we speak, Panasonic launched their newest full-frame L-mount lens. The Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro O.I.S. is a telephoto zoom lens that opens up potentialities in a variety of capturing conditions.

The brand new lens measures in at 3.31 inches (84 millimeters) in diameter and 5.83 inches (148 millimeters) in size and weighs 1.75 kilos (790 grams). The aspect of the lens has bodily switches for AF/MF management, enabling or disabling O.I.S., a spotlight limiter, and a zoom lock to forestall creep. The lens has an 11-bladed round aperture and 77mm entrance filter threads.

That includes a spotlight management that may calculate autofocus as much as 480 fps, Panasonic believes the S 70-300mm will ship “fast, high-precision autofocus” wanted for sports activities, animals, automobiles, and extra. The lens has a minimal focusing distance of 1.77 ft (0.54 meters) at 70mm and a pair of.43 ft (0.74 meters) at 300mm for a most magnification of 0.5x. For video shooters, Panasonic stated that they’ve minimized focus shifts when zooming and focus respiration throughout focus pulls.

Because the lens’ full title suggests, it has an optical picture stabilizer which when mixed with the in-body picture stabilization of a Lumix S-series digicam can compensate as much as 5.5 stops of slower shutter speeds. The lens doesn’t have a bodily “mode” change to refine the course of compensation.

The lens makes use of 17 components in 11 teams, together with 1 extremely extra-low dispersion component, 2 extra-low dispersion components, and 1 ultra-high refractive index component. Panasonic claims this minimizes axial chromatic aberration on the telephoto finish, chromatic aberration of magnification on the extensive finish, and uniform picture high quality from heart to nook. The entrance component has a fluorine coating to repel water and fingerprints.

The Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro O.I.S. lens is priced at $1,249.99 and can start transport in April.
